Power Loss: Supergirl, like her cousin Superman, loses her powers and her Str and Sta are reduced to 3 under a red sun. Other effects that interfere with/drain the energies of the yellow sun can also deprive her of her powers.
Heavy is the head…: Kara Zor-El has been placed in a position of immense responsibility as the leader of this new Justice League, and she struggles with the demands it sometimes places on her, especially when it comes to making snap judgments.
Relationships: Supergirl shares an apartment with Lana Lang and views Lana as a surrogate older sister and role model. She is also very close to Ma and Pa Kent.
Secret Identity: Kara tries to hide amongst Earthlings as a bookish college student known as Linda Lang.
Vulnerability: Supergirl shares Superman’s weakness to magical effects; her Toughness is not Impervious against magical attacks.
Weakness: Kryptonite (see page 233 of DC Adventures Hero’s Handbook).

Name: Kara Zor-El, Linda Lang
Gender: Female
Age: 22
Height: 5’8"
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Blonde
Base of Operations: The Watchtower

Suspended in cryogenic sleep and launched into space just prior to the consumption of Argo by Brainiac, the sixteen year old Kryptonian Kara Zor-El was intended to land on Earth prior to Kal-El’s arrival and serve as his protector.

Things did not go according to plan. While hurtling through space Kara’s rocket was caught in a meteor encrusted in Kryptonite, delaying her arrival by nearly thirty years. After a series of events that included being captured and brainwashed by Darkseid, Kara embraced her powers and decided to take up the S-shield and become Supergirl.

Being cousin to the mighty Superman left Kara struggling to figure out where she belonged. She spent some time training with Wonder Woman, temporarily joined the Teen Titans, journeyed to the future to team up with the Legion of Superheroes, struck up a friendship with Cassie Sandsmark aka Wonder Girl, and even tried to join the Outsiders. She eventually realized she worked best alone.

The death of Superman was a blow that everyone felt and led to the disappearance of Batman and the withdrawal of Wonder Woman from the world. It left Metropolis and its surrounding cities (including Gotham and Bludhaven from time to time) under the protection of Supergirl, a role she has been hesitant to take on due to Lex Luthor taking on the ‘official’ position as Metropolis’ protector and his official denouncement of superheroes.

Recent events however have led Supergirl into the limelight for better or worse. She has been criticized as not being mature enough or capable of replacing Superman. With the recent Apokoliptian Invasion (and the repelling of), however, Kara has accepted her role and has been selected as the leader of the next generation’s Justice League.

Personality notes: Kara Zor-El is not Clark Kent. She is typically very patient (working with Booster Gold has taught her plenty) but tends to think with her heart instead of her head, which can cause her to miss things that other, more detached people would notice immediately.
